Vicky is currently on a four-month career break having given up her day job as a recruiter in the City of London to treat herself to (part of) the Gap Year she never had. Growing up in a military family, she lived all over the place including Australia and the USA (and Lincolnshire!). Vicky graduated in 2004 from Queen Mary College, University of London, in History with French Studies; she then started in recruitment as a Resourcing Assistant at Cantor Fitzgerald. Several years onsite at Deutsche Bank followed eventually leading to her most recent role with Resource Solutions onsite at Morgan Stanley, where she was responsible for recruitment for Operations, Finance, Support and HR up to Vice President level. A keen interest in athletics led to her volunteering as a Games Maker during the London 2012 Olympics, assigned to the Jamaican team in the Athletes’ Village. Encouraged by this amazing experience, Vicky took the plunge, resigned her day job, and, having learnt about The Coldest Journey project through Tris Kaye, was inspired to spend part of her career break supporting the team. Vicky’s own “furthest South” is currently Australia’s Snowy Mountains (yes, there is snow in Australia)…
